    Default Caldwell v Metcalf IV

Oh man, can't wait for Caldwell v Metcalf IV in Omaha. I just hope both go for the same weight class.

On one hand, I hope they don't dampen it by going head to head in the All-Star meet as I'd rather this one recur for the '10 title. On the other hand, the public hype of Caldwell v Metcalf (ala Rocky v Apollo Creed, Ali v Frazier, Yankees v Bosox) is what this sport needs and I wouldn't mind more than one future bout.
Life's not the breaths you take, the breathing in and out that gets you through the day ain't what it's all about. It's the moments that take your breath away.

I think Caldwell is planning to redshirt next season and try out for the football team.

Caldwell also mentioned going up a couple weight classes in his interview. 165 could be crazy!

He'll go 157. Keeping mind his last year in HS was at 152, though he didn't need to cut to get there. He's been cutting for 3 years.

I'll really miss a return bout. I think it's pretty much proven, he's the only one that can keep it on a par with Metcalf. The wayMetcalf pounded the field this year, he's miss the Caldwell challenge. Heck, it wouldn't surprise me to see Metcalf bump up where ever Caldwell goes just to get the return bout.

They might not meet up anywhere but NCAAs, though. They didn't this year. I wouldn't think Metcalf would want to bump up just for tourney time, but who knows.

Iowa still has a hole at 157, maybe Metcalf does go up for another shot at Caldwell. Throw in Burroughs, Schlatter and Caldwell and you may have the toughest weight class in the last 25 years - 4 former champs.

Caldwell will likely finish 2-0 fro his career against Metcalf. I don't see them meeting next season.
    Lets go Brent!

Yes, I do recall a Mr. Schlatter hanging pretty tough with Metcalf to the tune of 5-3 I think last year. There are other guys out there that can push Metcalf. I am glad Caldwell reminded people of that with his up tempo style.

I think the turning point was the 2nd period with Caldwell up 5-2 and Metcalf in deep and looking like he was going to take Caldwell down and possibly to his back but Caldwell kind of arched backwards, turned in to Metcalf and got his feet back under him and got back out. It took alot of strength and athleticism to pull of that defense. I shook my head on that one.
