Wow--Vais. There's some tennis trivia for you (but not trivia to either Seles or Steffi Graf whom the attacker was seeking to help in a very twisted way!). Did you dig that up, or did you just have that stored in your memory bank?

Steffi Graf! Relative to her competition, maybe the greatest tennis player ever, male or female.

For the men's side, give me Federer's all around dominance and grace, even though, yes, I'm aware that Nadal had his number. That's the nature of tennis, though. Federer so thoroughly dominated his competition for such a long time, I won't brook any arguments attempting to name anyone else as greater than Fed. Federer lost a step just as Nadal reached his pinnacle (and Nadal trained exclusively to beat Federer). Fed = GOAT.

Hard to argue with either call there. Graf was the first woman I remember hitting almost as hard as men. I would love to see her play Serena when they were both in their prime. But when you think of the time Graf came on the scene, she definitely changed the way women played the game. A few months ago I caught a replay of a Chris Evert vs Tracy Austin match. I kid you not, the first game took over 10 minutes. It was almost like they were lobbing each shot from the baseline back and forth and back and forth.........

The Federer vs Nadal rivalry is a good one. Others I liked were Conners vs McEnroe, Sampras vs Aggasi, Seles vs Graf and Edberg vs Becker. If you want to watch an exciting player who you may not have paid attention to, watch Marcos Baghdatis. The dude gets to just about everything hit on his side of the court and isn't afraid to go for a big shot.

I know Baghdatis because he played Agassi in Agassi's last epic match before his back did him in. I've never seen a sports bar be entirely taken over by people watching a tennis match, but people were enthralled. Agassi may not have been the GOAT, but nobody ever quite made people love him like Agassi did. Andre is my personal favorite, if you can't tell.

Well, he is one of only 4 men in the open era to win a career grand slam. Sampras, McEnroe, Conners, Becker, Edberg and Lendl never did it. I loved watching him play too. I could never understand how he could stand right on the baseline and be able to hit ground strokes. Then I read his book and he told of the tennis machine his dad would use to fire balls at him and it really sped up his racket speed. He hated that machine, but it could have been the reason he was so successful.

She gets a set of the day tickets all week long and gives them to my dad and me. I watched Serena and Sharapova both play from the front row. But the real fun is to walk around and watch the pros on the practice courts. Andy Murray's serve in scary when you are standing right there. It's like a cannon.
Holy krap man get on topic! This is wrestling for god's sake.

Mac Enroe was a pure genius . Hit with a Kramer pro staff most of his career . when racquets turned to power over touch he was doomed .Seles/Capriani was the greatest women' match of all time .
