Just watched the replay again. Caldwell was starting the flip as the ref blew the whistle. His hands had not touched the mat to start the handspring. I won't disagree with anyone who thinks it was unnecessary but he did NOT do it during the match.

I do want to say that many wrestlers celebrate before the match is over. Just not all of them cut back flips.

whoa bj....they reviewed it, took a point away, deal is done...good for caldwell. i lost respect for metcalf....over time wrestlers that you've already beaten find a way to beat you...look at burroughs and leen and gillespie....2 national champs wrestling for 3rd and they have beaten burroughs in the past....

You people can't win with class and you can't lose with class. It starts at the top (Brands, Zadich,) and filters all the way down from your wrestlers to your fans.

You should be embarrased about what you just posted but based on what you wrote I am assuming you are too stupid to care.

I dont think it was unsportsmanlike by metcalf. He was sprinting at caldwell while time was still on the clock there was no way he knew caldwell would go flipping through the air. At that point contact was inevitable.
