I would not, and have never done anything half as stupid as what Donnie did. I think you need to take the tinfoil off your head and realize that times have changed. Either adapt or get busted for idiotitc and senseless crimes. He should have to check that box if he truly thought it was a good idea tondo what he did.

No one said you did. I suggested that as these laws creep up and no one fights them, that one day you will without even knowing it.

That's exactly how it's done. Belittle those with common sense. If it's the tinfoil that gives me the common sense, then I suggest you purchase some Reynolds Wrap.

and realize that times have changed.
I'm pretty sure I pointed out that times have changed. Didn't I mention how this would have been handled 20yrs ago? Or was I mistaken because of my tinfoil hat?

Thank ya, masta...I promise to be good from here on out.

So a kid who has busted his ass for his entire life with wrestling and grades, should never be able to get a good job because of one stupid mistake? Like I said, welcome to America, walk-the-line or get out!

I suspect that Vinson will get off without this showing up on his record. I'm guessing he will get off with just a warning.

I refuse to believe that any common sense exists in America anymore. I've developed a new point of view.

I work with the public every day, it still exists, but is becoming more and more rare every day.

Then why make the arrest in the first place? Everyone knows that employers search the internet for possible employees before they hire them. Some even require facebook passwords now (that's not a joke). So any internet search will bring this up. He's stuck with it forever. He's branded. Convicted or not, dude will have to explain this for the rest of his life. It's stupid. All they had to do was tell him to put it away. Not one story said he "menaced" anyone. Yet that's what he's stuck with for the rest of his life. I just hope everyone is as hard on themselves or their own children, if they think this was right. Because it will stick with your kids too, if they ever make a mistake.

I agree with Quinn that the U.S. has gone way overboard in not allowing authorities to cut someone a break, but I also agree with Herk that you have to be a complete and utter moron to carry a plastic gun through airport security.

I suspect most of us feel pretty similarly about the issue. The question is should you test the rule to try to change it (like ignoring bussing segregation in pre-civil rights days). I think they did right in paying the price to change civil rights laws. I'm not sure this is a battle I would want to get arrested for to prove a point. But I think that most of us would agree that we sometimes go overboard on security issues.

I have been told before "You are your choices.". That was his choice. He displayed bad judgement and if someone finds out then that is on him. Not "the man."
