I'm guessing that whoever has that video is just not posting it, so as not to make the sport look bad by glorifying an act like that. I am in support of that decision, if that's what is going on.

I could barely stomach the horrifically graphic video of that "illegal fist to the back". Any more such violent videos will only call for NCAA sanctions on our sport.

The 2011-2012 Cornell Media Guide and all of the articles on the championships on the Cornell Wrestling webpage quote Bosak as a junior. What's the hubbub?
Life's not the breaths you take, the breathing in and out that gets you through the day ain't what it's all about. It's the moments that take your breath away.

Dad Bill was 3x NCAA champ @ Iowa Teacher's College (UNI now) & then PSU coach during the 70s. Rob's older brother Dave was also a PIAA champ. Both Rob & Bosak went to State College HS. Quentin Wright would have but moved out to Wingate before he went to HS.

The Cornell athletics website lists (or did list) Bosak as a senior and when you looked up his record, they had Cornell results for 4 years going back to the 2008-09 seasons (Ivy League doesn't allow official redshirts). Also, certain publications/sites had him variously listed as either a Jr or a Sr, depending on which article/site you looked at. That led to the confusion. It looks like it's clear--he has one more year of eligibility.

The fact that he just completed his 4th year wrestling for Cornell?
To avoid criticism say nothing, do nothing, be nothing.

I wrestled on the PSU team back when Dad Bill (Koll) was coach. He used to smoke a cigar and smile and call himself a "SOB"--"sweet old Bill". He was sometimes more like the normal understanding of those initials. Did you know that they made an NCAA rule because of him? Back when he was winning NCAA championships in the 40's he used to pick guys up. . slam them to the mat. . .wiggle them around. . .referee would slap the mat for a fall. . .Koll would get up and the opponent was lying unconcious on the mat. They made the illegal slam rule because of him. At least that's what I was told when I was on his team.

I agree it's an interesting perspective. Did he take off two half semesters? Or is it conceivable that he will be off scholarship and finishing a degree?

Bosak had a season ending injury at Vegas his freshman year. He got a medical waiver and has 1 year left.

Thanks, gobigred. It's about time we had a real Cornell fan enlighten us. Where were you 2 weeks ago when you could have saved us all a lot of speculation? Probably enjoying seeing us pontificate about something we didn't know much about!
