If you would have seen his freshman state tourney when he was at least 5- 10lbs lighter than everyone else, you may understand why I was quick to be impressed.

I was just born when Gable won his Olympic gold, so I didn't really get to see him wrestle. I still think he's probably the best ever overall. But when you see a guy like DT, you have to take notice. I think we may be witnessing a modern day great. You never know until it's all said and done, but a lot of people miss out on appreciating it because they don't want to admit it when it's happening.
OK, Quinn. I see you're not afraid to answer the tough questions on an open board. Here's a tough one. Supposing DT had gone to Michigan to wrestle. He's wrestling a tOSU guy--who do you root for?

I mean..have you been to VA? That should answer why.

You're right, burnsie. I woke up on the wrong side of the bed this morning.

Quinn--you don't have to answer that.

Vais--Are you from VA or are you a transplant? I agree, VA is a lovely state--especially the western part.

Well, you got me on that one. That is probably the only scenario where I would have lost respect for DT. While I was able to forgive Metcalf for being born there and have complete respect for him, that was because he was wise enough to move out. Anyone who intentionally chooses to attend that place has no respect for their own self, so how could I have respect for them? So, I would root for tOSU guy. But I don't even like to entertain the thought.

Good point. Maybe you could sneak over to Virginia or VaTech and ask one of those guys what the deal is. I think each team had 5 kids from Ohio and I'm not sure if they counted any who redshirted. We must get to the bottom of this.

Good answer. I give you credit--you were willing to think about the unthinkable!

BTW--I'm not sure I've ever seen any Michigan fans post on this board. If they do, I didn't know they were Michigan fans. Interesting. I'm all the way in West Africa but I know (and am friendly with) a Michigan wrestling fan. The Michigan fans must go to other boards.

Tom, I thought the same thing.
My experience with Michigan fans is they rarely feel the need to speak with non-Michigan fans.
Especially when their team is not doing very well.
