Didn't Pat Smith have Schultz and Monday to contend with? I think he lost to those guys. There's a video on youtube of him wrestling Saitiev- it does not go well.
Alger won a world silver medal, I think.
I think Howe's success against Burroughs is a bit overblown. He won one period in two matches. I suppose any of the good defensive wrestlers- Howe, Marable, Caldwell- have a chance to try and stall Burroughs out but hard to do it two matches in a row, JB is just so quick.
I haven't watched enough Taylor video to have an good opinion on him. So far he's been beating the crap out of subpar (compared to international guys) opponents, hard to say how he'll do against the next level up. It would definitely make for an exciting final though, as opposed to more guy like Howe or Paulson (the favorites IMO) making it through.
