Dake's acomplishment is pretty special but by the definition of the award it has to be Taylor with Ruth a close second.

First winner of NCAA Most Dominant award; undefeated nat'l champ; OW of Nationals. Hard to pick someone else. I'd go Ruth and Dake following him.

I wonder what the temptation will be to give it to the first person to win 3 titles at 3 different weights. I agree that I'd give the award to Taylor>Ruth>Dake>Molinaro>everyone else.

The only thing yet to be determined is if theyll name the award after Taylor from now on. It was his the moment he teched hatchett.

The award is supposed to be based on seven criteria: 1. Record, 2. Number of pins, 3. Dominance, 4. Past credentials, 5. Quality of competition, 6. Sportsmanship/citizenship, 7. Heart.

I would say Taylor has criteria 2 & 3 locked down, but 1 is 3-way tie with Dake & Ruth, 4 has to go to Dake, 5 you could argue should go to Ruth and 6 & 7 are subjective. So it's not as much of a lock as many think. I could see Dake getting it too.

I think it should and will go to Taylor, but I would not be shocked if they gave it to Dake instead of Taylor. I would be very surprised if it went to Ruth over Taylor though.
