I think this discussion is based on error. I cannot imagine Cael would take Long back. I think it was reasonable to give a second chance/fresh start (I realize at ISU it was more than a second chance) to a guy that he had originally recruited and had some kind of a relationship with. He was given a short leash. He broke that leash. To take him back again now would have all kinds of bad ripple effects. No way in the world Cael would do that. I don't know what the origin of this rumor is, but I'm sure it's groundless.

Has he had his trial in Centre County yet? I don't want to pry into the young man's personal life, but with all that has happened at PSU in the last year would they bring back someone charged with sex crimes? As a PSU fan, this story seems dubious. I doubt the athletic department would court the potential negative PR, unless there is more to that story than we learned from the papers. I certainly pull for the young man to get his act together, and would love to be able to see him wrestle at PSU or anywhere else, as he was one of the most exciting wrestlers in the country (his quarterfinal pin of Sentes in a match he was down was the turning point at nationals last year. Penn State took off from there.)

I am going on record that there is no way in hell Cael takes another chance with this kid. Let him go to JUCO if he really wants to get a degree and keep wrestling. PSU has shown it can win without a 133, 141 and essentially without a 197.

And none of this is considering that some guys on the team & some parents of the wrestlers felt that after awhile that AL was not a good influence. I do not think he would be welcome back by his teammates.
