I believe I read it was the fifth best in NCAA history, which is kind of amazing when you realize not everything went well for them. First, Pearsall doesn't get an at-large spot. Second, Wade and MM get 3 points between them. Third, two guys lose in the finals. They could have had more and I strongly believe they will next year.

For the life of me, I can't find the point totals of team champions in NCAA history. Is it true the total was fifth highest ever?
