Thread: 2013 weight changes

minnesota has Dolezal, Keough, Zilverberg, Ortiz all around 157.

It will be interesting to see what plays out @ 157 next year.
Does anyone know if Keough even wrestled this year??? Was he injured.... I didn't hear a word of him wrestling any opens this year????
I personally think both Dardanes and Ness staying where they are will make Minny a stonger team because I feel they will all be more effective there. I don't think the Dardanes have the body types to be as effective if they move up a weight compared to where they are now.

I also think Storley would be even tougher if he moved down to 165 considering he was a hammer on top @ 174.
He is built a lot like Howe. I wonder if Storley would have to cut much weight....How tall is he????
Yohn is just to inconsistent @ 165, I think if he would be able to add some bulk to his frame he would be better suited for 174. He almost looks sickly out there at times....like he is cutting to much weight....some guys can handle the weight cut but I doesn't appear that his body does that well it.

People are acting like its a done deal that Q and Wright will move up a weight class next year. Has this been confirmed, or is it just speculation? I think Q would have to bulk up a ton to avoid getting pushed around at 97...

Q and Wright? Ruth said in an interview after NCAA's that he was going to lift weights and move up, so everyone is assuming Wright bumps as well.

I agree with you about Wright at 97, I don't think he'll be nearly as effective at that weight. Still an AA, but not challenging for the title.

Doesn't really mean a ton (I don't know the answer to your question). Chris Dardanes didn't wrestle at all as a freshman either.

How "official" are the Ruth and Wright weight changes?

Ruth was telling people in St. Louis that he's excited to start lifting and gaining weight because he won't be at 174 again.

Q better start lifting today if he's going to be able to hang at 197.

I think that QW and Ruth moving up is pretty much a done deal. Remember that last summer they were thinking the same thing, until it was decided not to RS McIntosh. QW was bulking up then and the word was that he would be fine for 197. He's got a lot of height and a lot of room to add muscle to his frame. I think QW will be fine at 197. But, yes, I think it's pretty much a done deal. McIntosh really needs a RS year. I've also heard (not confirmed) that his knee injury this year may require surgery in the off-season.
