Re: Who does Brands hate losing to more? Rumor has it that Tom Brands stood right behind Eggem and J during Sanders 3rd place match cheering on Sanders and he went up to J afterwards and patted him on the back. If true, proof that you can be rivals and still respect each other.

Re: Who does Brands hate losing to more? Sounds like good sportmanship by Brands. Of course, it's possible he was worried about Cornell catching them and was glad to see Perrelli lose!

The fact that Ryan was in the green room practically using Ramos like a Jerry Tarkanian mouth towel during Oliver/Stieber final let's you know it's a pretty tight fraternity. Remember alot of these guys get recruited by multiple schools and have faced each other for years.

Re: Who does Brands hate losing to more? It could go both ways. Initially Zalesky was chosen over Brands (why Brands went to Va Tech). Then when Iowa wanted a change, Brands replaced Zalesky. Don't think there's a lot of love either way.
Re: Who does Brands hate losing to more? Ahh, didn't know that Zalesky was chosen over Brands the first time. I'm sure that there is no love lost between the two.
Re: Who does Brands hate losing to more? Both Zalesky and Brands were Asst coaches to Gable. From what I understand, when Gable left he debated between the 2 to replace him, and finally recommended that Zalesky be the one. Maybe an Iowa fan can correct me, but that's my understanding.
