    Default Ed Ruth

I think a lot of people that follow PA high school wrestling knew Ed Ruth was a big talent with huge college potential, but I don't think even the most optimistic of forecasters would have seen him complete his first 2 seasons with a 3rd and 1st place finish with only 2 career losses. 2 B1G titles as well. And a major decision in the national finals, avenging his last loss. If anyone was still debating Cael's coaching ability, this is Exhibit A why you should stop. Unbelievable that him and Taylor will head into their Junior years with a combined 3 losses.

2 losses for Ed? I think that one loss was in an Open tourney his Rs year to Quentin.

He lost to Letts from Maryland too, I think it was at the Scuffle last year.

I doubt we'll see anymore of the doubters talking about the Amuchastegui match, and the doubters talking about the Bubba Jenkins match when referring o Taylor. This was a great NCAA championships to put all that BS to rest and CONFIRM that these two are world class talent who are now both mature. And, as you said, CONFIRM Cael's coaching/recruiting ability.

... and while you are on the subject of Cael's coaching ability, don't forget about the Nico Megaludis story at the NCAA's!

Why do we have to forget Bubba Jenkins sticking David Taylor. I like that story.

I think World Class is a tad premature since they don't wrestle on the world stage.

I really wish another great one would come along and challenge these guys. They are fun to watch but it's always better when you have to beat other greats to get there. I don't think anyone really doubts how great these guys are. They make Penn State the favorite for the next two years because no one else can claim to have almost two automatic champions that will score a ton of bonus. Two of the best wrestlers I have ever seen

I'm very high on DT and Ruth as well. But I also think if someone had told me that Oliver would lose 2 matches this year, I would have said they were crazy. If someone had said a true FR would beat Russell I wouldn't have believed it. If someone had said a RS FR would beat McD I would have been shocked. Every year has its surprises. Ruth shocked me (and just about everyone else) last year when he badly beat Lewnes at the Southern Scuffle. You never know who's coming along. That said, I do feel pretty good about DT and ER right now.
