Big Ten with 7 Champs and 34 AA's. 42.5% How many qualifiers did we send of the 330 entrants?

High was 5 AA's At 174 and Low was 1 AA at 197.

As Matt Brown demonstrated, 197 was pretty much a train wreck in the B1G this year.

I think you will see Steve Brown with some losses next year at 174. It's a very completive weight in B1Gs and after he's made his rounds I think he ends up in that Heflin, Storley, Blanton, pack.

I forget who made the preseason top 5 predictions, but I do remember saying that one of them would be out and tOSU would be in. Call me crazy, but I see them as top 3 next year.

    I think they had 74 or 22.4%.

I'd say they earned those qualifiers then?

I certainly wouldn't count them out especially in light of the good showing their FR made. Cornell will take a big point hit with the departure of Bosak and Simaz--so tOSU shouldn't have a problem surpassing them. But the top 3 all have young teams so tOSU will need to have their FR continue to improve quite a bit to surpass the point difference with Iowa-Minn-PSU. They could sure do it--but it won't be easy. One thing, it's going to be hard for any of the top 3 to score much better next year compared to how they did this year. Amazing having the top 4 score over 100 this year!

I wouldn't be shocked to see PSU and Minny score higher next year. PSU got no significant points from 133, 141, 197 and 285 this year. The guys coming back in the other 6 classes (I'm including Andrew Alton, who I see as a top 4 guy with a lot of bonus points) will, barring some wild upsets, bring in a boatload of points again. Minny should do a little better depending on how well they replace their seniors. Iowa should come in over 100 again. So you'd better be ready to score a lot if you want to get top 3.

Cornell is a puzzler. Most of their points came from three seniors (don't forget Perrilli in 4th) and a junior which not much behind them. The other guys on their roster better step up next year or they will fade badly in the team race.
