Anyone else notice Nelson wrestled 4 AAs along the way and the only one he didn't wrestle was Sturgeon, who HAD beaten him earlier in the year? I'd say that's earning your NCAA Championship.

Watching it live I thought (in my possibly biased opinion) that Bosak did have a takedown on Wright in the OT. Nelson's seemed relatively clear at well. As for Bosak over Q, Bosak definitely had a gameplan coming in and he executed it well. Wright should have tried to force the action a little more, as Bosak clearly wanted to just tie him up and snag one at the end.

Dake seems to be taking quite a lot of heat in other places for what one commenter on Flo described as "stalling more than anyone has ever seen in an NCAA finals match." I really didn't think he was stalling that badly. He deserved the warning and probably deserved to be banged for the one too, but I thought it was a solid win. I couldn't really believe the Iowa crowd booing him after the match. I was sitting next to about eight Iowa fans (not in the Iowa section, but by coincidence), and two or three of their conduct's was just flat out unacceptable. Booed, called him garbage, horrible, terrible, and a bunch of explatives that I probably shouldn't repeat. Plus, they berated Bosak and Simaz during their matches, calling them "stalling Cornell scum". I realize that not all Iowa fans are like this, of course, but wow. They are vicious. Over the loud applause that followed the booing of Dake, I wasn't able to hear what he was saying in the interview that's getting a lot of people riled up. What was it? Something about "punching in the face" and "not doing anything"? Do the people here think what he said was out of line?

Ruth tore up Amuchastegui. That was impressive. DT very impressive as well.

I probably would have called a takedown for Oliver there at the end, but I'm not the ref. However, I have seen that exact same position two/three times this weekend, and each time it was called as a takedown. Oliver didn't quite look his best today.

Overall a great tournament. The freshmen sure showed that we have some things to look forward to in the years to come.
    Am I cool now?

I think Oliver looked fine, I think Stieber can make a guy not look at his best at times bc of his style.

Haha. I had just said it myself to someone else who was watching it with me, when Tim said that like 3 seconds later & my friend just stared at me. Too funny.

Personally though I think Oliver got screwed, should have been two at the end with both ankles collected and Stieber flat on his butt.

He waited too long though, finally commits to shots inside of :30 and gets super deep both times.
I am thinking the ref didn't call it b/c JO didn't have his head out. That being said, if that is not a TD then how is Bosak's a TD? QW had complete control of Bosak's upper body while Bosak had Q's legs. Nelson's I can see clearly being a TD more than those 2. Rey just quit thinking he was out. The look on his face said it all.
