    1. Where is the proof that Manning was disciplined by Nebraska for this incident?
    2. Do you really think the court will equate the kids posing to a just another summer job?
    3. Which privacy laws did Manning violate in haste? I seem to remember Manning taking some time to investigate the situation.
    4. Can you prove the emotional and financial hardship? Are scholarships a privilege or a right?
    5. Which national lobbying group did you say wants to litigate this? Can you charge them for billable hours?
I firmly believe you need retell your firm belief to a judge, not a website.

    To Grapplefan,

Sorry, I don't want to repeat my previous postings, but many of the answers to your questions are in other postings. And, yes, the amount of time Coach Manning took to investigate the situaion is a matter of opinion. Less than 24 hours, in my opinion, is hasty.

Again, what would you do if your boss got mad at you one day and hastily fired you?

And, sorry, to disappoint you, but I don't have billable hours in my profession. Our educational programs are fee based and offer continuing legal education credits for attorneys.

I just hope the young men involved have sought advice from competent professionals to make sure other athletes are not faced with such emotional and financial hardships.

"Again, what would you do if your boss got mad at you one day and hastily fired you?"

But this wasn't the case here, was it? Show us the "emotional and financial hardships" in this case.

You can debate the NCAA violation aspects all you want, bottom line, every college scholarship offer contains an agreement regarding academic and non-academic behavior that besmirches the name of the university. It's vague enough that coaches can invoke it virtually at will for criminal and non- criminal acts. UN never expelled Donoho or Jordan. They left on their own. Manning just dismissed them from the team for multiple violations of team rules. Whether there was a violation of an NCAA rule is pretty much moot.
Life's not the breaths you take, the breathing in and out that gets you through the day ain't what it's all about. It's the moments that take your breath away.

While Donahoe may have committed a rules infraction, it certainly was not one that was worthy of causing his dismissal from the university. Nebraska simply revealed its own bigoted prejudice when wrestling coach said in an August statement: “The history of behavior of these men, including the current matter, does not reflect the standard of excellence we aspire to on and off the mat. … I want to personally apologize for any embarrassment that may have been caused for our athletic department, the university and our fans.”<O</O

Manning did not expand on what he meant by “history of behavior” and records showed only minor legal infractions by both wrestlers. Nebraska had a chance to redeem one of its own. It had a chance to engage in a genuine teaching opportunity, to explain about making better choices and understanding the consequences of action. <O</O

Instead, the university failed its student and, in the process, itself.

Ouch, that last line hurt! I cannot ever recall a college wrestling coach bringing more embarrassment to their university than Manning has done. In the 2007 YouTube backstage video after Donahoe won the national championship, Manning is a complete idiot as he remarks to Donahoe with the camera rolling, 'you're on steriods, everyone knows you're on steriods.' What an idiot! And, to think, the University of Nebraska pays Tom Osborne & Mark Manning upwards of a million dollars for this type of embarrassment (at OSU in 2008, these two postions were paid $835,800).

Luckily for Nebraska & Manning, I doubt Donahoe will ever seek justice for their FERPA violation. He is a first-class winner, and will be enormously successful in any path he chooses. He's developed quite a following among the Millennials, with many of the younger generation based on Facebook and other soliciations contributing to Edinboro's wrestling program as a show of support. As he prepares for the Olympics, he'll hire an agent and make a fortunate from appearing on Oprah and like shows with the ladies going wild. In fact, the slime Los Angeles businessman may want to target another 50% of the population with his photos. Donahoe is a winner in every sense of the word.
