I mean, I like Johnson a lot. I was on his bandwagon last year after his great summer wrestling freestyle. But me liking a guy doesn't mean I'm going to pick him to be an AA here. I like Nick Dardanes a whole lot more than I like Jeremy Johnson and I don't have him here either.
This is probably a pick where I'm wrong though, given the amount of faith that I'm stupidly putting in Brendan Barlow.

Z out takes OSU out, DSJ coming back to form puts Iowa back in. Without him PSU is the CLEAR favorite.
This reminds a little bit of the 99 NBA season when Ewing was out all year for the Knicks & then came back with a week left in the season. The Knicks got the 8th seed & knocked out #1 Miami in the 1st round. They went on to the Finals where they lost to The Spurs.
Iowa getting DSJ back, moving Gambrall down & having Evans & Telford pick it up put them in very good position to win it all in what was looking like a down year for them.
Next year's NCAA are in Des Moines I believe I can imagine that will make it a real barn-burner as far as being extra incentive for Iowa State & Iowa AND especially in trying to get tickets. Fergitaboutit.
I still think an awful lot has to go right for Iowa for that all to happen.

I think all the picks people have been making for Iowa are more than reasonable. While all the picks are reasonable it is unlikely that one or two Iowa wrestlers won't be on the wrong side of some sort of upset. If PSU has 3 champs and score a ton of bonus with those 3 guys they are going to be tough to beat regardless of what their other guys do.
I just hopes its as exciting as last year, don't really care which teams are involved in it. Only difference will be whether I'm drinking my beer or throwing it.
