Thread: NCAA Brackets (PDF) & other info

Once KR started including scenarios with Martelloti beating Oliver, I had to stop reading.

My first instinct was that Amuch not getting the 1 was(as you guys said) the opposite of what they did last year. Now, I think most people didn't think Hall had earned that seed last year, and when he didn't come close to matching his seed, maybe they decided to change things up and go with who they really thought had the best body of work for THAT season.

Again, it makes little to no sense, but having the 1 seed is almost an invitation to the finals at 174. Especially for Ed Ruth.

With Fleming, the 6 seed doesn't really bother me. DSJ and Welch deserve to be seeded higher when you compare bodies of work, and he lost to Sanjaa who was pinned by Peppelman. I guess he could have been higher, but 6 seems about right.
To avoid criticism say nothing, do nothing, be nothing.

I agree with all of you about people getting hosed with their seedings...but, since I can't change it I am really looking forward to some awesome match-ups!
-Lil Dardanes vs AJ Schopp and the winner get Stieber.
-I think Devin Carter's first match with McCormick could be a good one.
-Nauman vs VonOhlen in the quarters - WWC needs a big showing and VonOhlen is a horse
-I'd love to see a Storley v Amuch match
-Joe Leblanc v. Mike Larson in the first round should be a good one as well.
-Personally, I think a Christian Boley (tore through the acc) v. Simaz will be a great match.

Just a few thoughts. This is such a great time of year!

Bracketology Baby! I think the committee must have been doing shots before starting some of these weight classes! So what about Mango? Is he going to beat Mele? The old 8 versus 9 match up is always tough! The good thing here versus basketball is if you blow the call your guy can still come back. I'm betting both of these guys are AA's before all is said and done. DC

I really don't have a huge problem with Ruth being #1, but it shouldn't happen in my book. Regardless, how in the world can you put Perry over Amuch? Good gravy, that's just completely awful...

I could swear that Borelli was on the seeding committee as well, he should have went on a hunger strike until that seed was changed.

Not seeding Mario Mason seems a bit silly to me as well. He gets Parks in the 2nd round? Jamal would have been better off losing a match or two this year given his bracket.

Wasn't Mason a wild card selection?

    Yup...they are random. That's just a draw.

I have to admit that I was more confident of PSU's chances before seeing the seedings and draw. I'm still hopeful/optimistic, but it's going to be a dog fight and if any team gets really hot it's for the taking. I was interested to note that of Minnesota's 9 qualifiers ALL got seeds! PSU and Iowa got 7 seeds and Ok St only got 4 seeds!

    PSU: 1,1,1,6,6,7,10 (theoretically 6 AA's)
    Minn: 2,2,4,5,7,9,10,10 (theoretically 5 AA's)
    Iowa: 1,2,3,3,5,5,5 (theoretically 7 AA's--all seeds in top 5!)
    OSU: 1,2,2,5
