    Default Big Ten Brackets Out

Looks like the Megaludis #3 Seed held. McDonough also gets a pigtail. All of which can make it an interesting weekend.

    http://intermatwrestle.com/Files/pdf...mpionships.pdf

#125 Dijulius as the #6 seed could surprise Megaludis and we all know Mele v Delgado could be a battle. Still think we see McD v Sanders final.

#133 This is going to be a barn-burner, I'm not going to make any forecasts here just gonna watch the fireworks.

#141 Same thing here, the semi's are gonna be great.

#149 I think Ness gets past Grajales here and gets in to the finals against Tank.

#157 Zilverburg will have to wrestleback after Alton beats him here in the pigtail I think. We'll see what he's made of. St. Johns will have his hands full if he has to get past Green then Alton to get to Welch. He'll get a test of that knee right away with a quality wrestler in #3 Green.

#165 Taylor and ?. I think Evans grits his way to the finals here with a close decision over Yohn and a battle against Kokesh.

#174 Ruth and ?. What a war. I wouldn't bet house money on this bracket but will be pulling for my boy Storley. Whenever you have Munster as an 8 seed and Blanton as the 9 seed, you know the weight is stacked. If Storley slips by Koehn/Leblanc, he only has Lofthouse to get to the finals. I think both of Storley's matches will be by one point, I'm not calling the winner. Lambs to slaughter though against Ruth. I really wish Storley would have gotten a shot at Ruth in the regular season because if he gets there, I'm not sure he knows whats gonna hit him.

#184 QW has a pigtail then gets Dallago then most likely Ihnen. Ihnen will give him a good match I think. I like Steinhaus path as he gets Hinton and than Gambrall in the semi's. I like the 1 and 2 seeds to make the finals with a high-scoring 10-8 type final. No idea who will win.

#197 Yohn gets the #1 seed over Powless credit to his 4-1 regular season head to head win. Powless was 30-3 with losses to Haynes and Honeycutt. Yohn was 22-4 with spankings from Simaz, Haynes twice and a strange loss to Gonzalez. This bracket I think is tougher than it looks with lots of depth and some upstart freshman. Yohn gets a pigtail v Wagner then will see #8 seed Kissel and then most likely winner of Gonzalez/Huntley. I like him to get through but BARELY. We'll see how much he has left in the tank if he gets to the finals. This is the kind of bracket that can leave you wiped out if you have to go 7 minutes against all of your opponents. I think Powless comes through.

Hwt. So hard to predict this weight class no matter what the conference. Nelson gets Capone/Vukobratovich winner. I personally hope he gets V. As he's had closer matches with Capone. Then he gets probable Lane/McMullan winner to get to the finals. Last year this would have worried me but Nelson has just beaten the guys he's supposed to beat this year and looked strong and solid doing it. Wade will have most likely Apland/Telford winner to make the finals. I like Nelson to hold seed here and get his Big Ten Championship.

I think the Gophs got about as good a draws as you can expect from their regular season results. They are going to need finals appearances from Sanders, Ness, Storley, Steinhaus, Yohn and Nelson to keep this think close with Dardanes/Dardanes/Zilverburg and Yohn wrestling tough in wrestlebacks. I want to pull for Yohn against Evans again but I just see Evans making it 7 minutes of hell on Yohn and bouncing him back to wrestlebacks if he gets through his pigtail. Zilverburg needs to win at least two in wrestlebacks and Dardanes will need to finish Top 5.

Except for McD they didn't get many pig-tails (at least not where they wanted them). But with more weights having seedings up to 10-12, a lot of the first 4 seeds didn't even have a chance of getting a pig-tail. Those pig-tail bonus points can add up. But, they add up in consys too!

I added up the pig-tails for the top 8 seeded wrestlers for Iowa--Minn-PSU:

    Iowa (2) 125, Hwt
    Minn (3) 165, 184, 197
    PSU (5) 125, 141, 157, 165, 184--Zilverburg & Garcia aren't the easiest pig-tail bouts, but overall PSU got a break in getting so many pig-tails.

IU has a few guys who may make some noise besides Matt. Chalfant @ HWT.,LeBlanc @ 174,Walsh @ 149 and (maybe) ortega at 141 . a shame Sheridan drew Wright -he went 3-5 in the B1G at 184 as a true frosh .

Especially bc those are bound to be bonus points.

Not sure why they don't just make 5-12 wrestle the pigtails.

Draws in general tough for the hawks. Not many favorable rd 1 matches either. Uphill battle for sure.

The MEga over Delgado seeding is a travesty of justice.
Jacob Schlottke---Gone too soon, and the world is a little less bright because of it. RIP, brother.

One, two, Evans is coming for you...

Zapp--I agree that I think Delgado deserved to be #3, but I don't really think it's going to make any difference. I don't see anyone beating McD and Sanders, so the rest of the pack will duke it out in consys. I think Delgado will still come in 3rd (but I'm not counting out Nico).
