Its one thing when someone gets injured and you all of a sudden have to get down. Its quite another to have an entire off season to cut your body down to size. I know little about Thanes weight but Im merely pointing out that that isnt the most sound reasoning to say he couldnt do it.

It's much more likely HE could get there then Thorn or Dardanes. There are certain faces that come to mind when guys were pulling hard. C Yohn, Mack Reiter, McD, Gray, Ruggerillo. It concerns me when I see those gaunt faces. I'm a fan of the sport but we can all empathize with these kids. If Thane wants to try it, it could have a real impact on the line-up but obviously he and his coaches and parents know best.

Antczak was recruited as a 125 lber, but immediately outgrew that weight. As much as I'd love to see Thane, CD, or Thorn at 125 (and be effective) it will never happen. 125 will be an open weight for Minny next year.

IMO, Cody phillips would have won his 3rd state title in Indiana this year had he not been injured . Minny has him signed.

We also have Brancale and Kingsley who can make that weight. I think the term "open" might be a little bit harsh.

I'm spoiled by Sanders. How about sub-500 instead of open?

I think Brancale might surprise you, though looks like he is at 132 his senior season, so perhaps he might get too big? Dakota Trom won last year at 126, maybe he'll get there? There's always JUCOs or transfers which if I'm J Rob, I'm looking at hard. You are right, it might be fairly "open"?
