Preferably a facility with comfortable seats and many restrooms. Allow fans to bring their own food and drinks, except for alcohol. Sell beer at a reasonable price. Have booths throughout the venue promoting each team for fans to get their wrestling gear (hats, t-shirts....) Make sure all teams and coaches participate in a fan appreciation type thing. Maybe where you can get autographs or have a picture taken with the entire team with you in it. The ideas are endless there. Heck, I'd even throw in an entertaining seminar during the "fan day" where wrestlers and/or coaches explain the rules and scoring system of wrestling to girlfriends/wives who didn't really want to make the trip. Make darn sure it's entertaining while also informative and give away a free t-shirt to those who attend, so they feel like part of the event instead of rolling their eyes and complaining the entire weekend. I've never met a person who didn't like wrestling once they understand the rules and scoring, it's a no-brainer. Every school would benefit in future attendance. Since it's not affiliated with the NCAA, the wins and losses aren't counted on the official records so maybe wrestlers go harder and try moves they normally wouldn't. Make it all happen in one weekend and make sure I'm flown out with free tickets and accomodations (it was my idea after all).
I am not a big fan of the NCAA either but they have the money & the media outlet connections that could bring it to a National TV audience.

That's true. But I don't think the NCAA does enough with their money to promote wrestling. So, if it's media that needs to be gotten, why not give Dana White a call and make it a wrestling/MMA weekend? Dana has clout with the media and has money and has a personal interest in promoting wrestling. It could be a complete win-win situation and maybe gain enough interest that the NCAA takes notice and starts promoting wrestling themselves. Right now the NCAA has no real interest in promoting any sports but football and men's basketball.

I said this for Brands last year, and ill say it for Cael this year. Their job is to do whats best for their team, not to make decisons based on what will grow wrestling. If Cael believes itll make them better for NCAAS, then he needs to go with that. Iowa showed great improvement last year, and one cant help but wonder if their skipping of national duals helped them.

That's basically what people hear when you talk about wrestling duals and bowl games.

I wonder how WWII and WWII would have turned out had the US done what was in the best interests of the US?
