Hey, get off that nice girl's butt.

That's probably not the first time you've ever heard that either. And hopefully not the last.

Cael takes his team to Utah Valley and sets an attendance record for that school. REC Hall has been sold out all year. I haven't checked, but I'd bet attendance is up whereever PSU goes. THAT is what Cael is doing for the sport.

I didn't agree with Brands skipping it last season, but after I saw the result, with a very young Iowa team coming out strong down the stretch last season...He did what was right by his team. Only Cael knows the reasons, but no one should be questioning this man's intentions. He's goal oriented and driven to succeed.

Does that mean that the coaches that took their teams to National Duals are not "goal oreinted or driven to succeed"? Or less so than Sanderson? I wish Penn State would have been in the duals but I understand and it's up to them if they want to come or not. At least one top team is going to skip it every year unless it becomes an NCAA national championship.

Every Division I coach is driven to succeed and goal oriented. They wouldnt be in the position that they are in if they werent. And, thats not the topic of this thread. The topic really is whether State Penn has taken unfair criticism for not attending the National Duals. Personally, I dont care that they did or that they didnt.

But, it also points out the fact that guys like Tom Brands have to live up to a double standard and the University of Iowa does too that is really unfair. Now, it is their own doing, as it only happens to the most successful team in any sports and thats what Iowa is......EG: Yankees.

But, it is still a double standard and there has really not been any outrage towards State Penn for not attending. Even John Smith only got a slap on the wrist compared to Brands when Okie State didnt attend.

Oh, poor Iowa and Tom Brands. Seriously? I miss the old days when we had a litany of "a Cael team can't beat a Brands team" posts from the Iowa folks. Both positions are equally invalid.

Not invalid until last year. A Cael team had never beaten a Brands team in anything, until last year. Therefore, making that point, valid until Big Tens of last season.

Exactly Herkey. I know its hard for the State Penn fans to realize, but before last year you hadnt won anything since 1953, and he hadnt beaten Iowa and Brands as a coach prior to Big Tens like Herkey said. Really, all those threads were 100% legitimate. Not that he wasnt with company since every other team was in the same boat as State Penn.

Look at all the Brands bashing that goes on. Compared to others. Not even comparable man.

Didn't a Cael team beat a Brands team at nationals in 2007?

"Anything"??? I certainly understand that PSU had not won an NCAA tournament title in that span. They did win about 15 conference championships, which I would call something. On Brand's coaching bio on the official website, they list him as having won three NCAA titles and 3 B10 titles, so I guess even Iowa thinks that a conference championship is something.

    As for Brands bashing:

I think Cael has taken as much this year as Tom did last year for passing on National Duals.
For coaching success, Cael has taken a lot more than Brands (especially by Iowa fans).
For leaving one school and going to another, Cael has taken more for coming to PSU than Brands did for going to Iowa.
For personal behavior, well...Brands is winning that category hands down.

I'm not saying the "bashing" is right or wrong, but I think it is less lopsided than you think.
