Default How to create a pool? Help

For the past 6 years I have been going to the NCAA's, and each year I have heard more and more about fantasy wrestling and pools.

At work and with friends I have created such a buzz about this sport and tournament. People want to take part in a pool/bracket.

I really don't have an idea on how to start. If someone is willing to lend me a hand, I would really appreciate it.

I assume each person would be given the same amount of team points, and then each wrestler would be given points based on their seed. Each person would set their roster accordingly. Should there be any wild cards, bonus points, or switches?

Thanks for your suggestions and help.

Depends on how in depth you want to make it.

The easiest way, I'd imagine, is having everyone pick their AA's (or just the champion) for each weight class, giving them a Point total to each weight's placing.. (i.e. 149 #1 Brent Metcalf, 10 Pts, 125 #1 Paul Donahoe, 9pts...) down the list for each Place @ each Weight & then tally the # correct at the end.. most points wins.

Thanks for the tip, I never thought about doing it that way. The only problem is that everyone will mostly likely pick all #1 seeds. I want to find a challenging way for people to analyze each bracket and also go out on a limb.

For instance associating each wrestler points based on the likelihood of them winning and then give each person a certain amount of points for them to build their team.

    1. Metcalf 50
    2. Herbert 49
    3. Donahoe 44

    What do you think?

Each wrestler in the tournament would receive X points? That'd be a few hundred kids.. how would you account for the hundreds of unseeded wrestlers- how many points would they receive?

In my example, if people picked along seeds for #1 & somehow every #1 seed ended up winning, they'd still need to accurately pick all of the AAs.

For each place @ each weight, you'd have 10 pts (most likely to Place #1) through 1 pt (least likely of the ten ten weights to place in this position).

I agree with what you are saying, I figured someone would have the point allocation done for the different fantasy leagues. Your was is definetly the easiest and most efficient. I would assign points to seeded wrestlers only, everyone else would be 0 pts.

    thanks for your comments
