Yes, I think there is opportunity to improve the tournament but I'm excited to see it no less. And I credit Wisconsin for coming. They will very possibly not score 10 points all weekend but they will leave a better team for next year.

@ Whippet, I don't think there's a disadvantage to having wrestled an extra match. They train for it every day. If anything, it could be an advantage against NU. I don't have high expectations beyond that, just high hopes.

Financially it behooves them to get the Hawkeyes into the final four any way they can and this type of seeding/draw is the best way to do it.
What are you even talking about? How is Iowa not deserving? You're aware they beat Minnesota(without DSJ) and tied(and lost on criteria) against Okey st(without DSJ), correct? You're also aware that a dual with Cornell would go something like this:

    125-McD Wbd Perelli-3-0 Iowa
    133-Ramos WBD Arujau 6-0 Iowa
    141-Marion WBD Nevinger 9-0 Iowa
    149-Villalonga wbd Kelly 9-3 Iowa
    157-Dake WBD DSJ 9-6 Iowa
    165-Evans WBD(if they're lucky) Peppelman 12-6 Iowa
    174-EL WBD George 15-6 Iowa
    184-Bosak WBD GG 15-9 Iowa
    197-Simaz WTF 15-14 Iowa
    285-Telford WBD Jochym 18-14 Iowa

That was with me giving Bosak a win over GG(who he has never beaten) and no BP's to Iowa's more than capable 125,33, and 141.

I have to agree with you, Vais. Cornell this year (even more than last year) is a better tournament team than dual team. Yes, I know they beat Minnesota, but it wouldn't happen again. No way Cornell would win at 141 and 149 again. But they've got some great point scorers for the NCAA's.

I think Ramos would WMD against Arujau if he keeps consistent pressure on him for 7 minutes.

Completely agree, but was being conservative.

The pairings were set some time ago before the season began I believe. VT got 2nd at national Duals last year and graduated nobody. OSU is a tough team. Also Ohio St coming into the year was starting 8 freshmen, nwca couldn't have predicted how well they would have done.
