There was however some "bad blood" in the rivalry. Myron and Doug were teammates at OSU. Myron graduated in 1956 and immediately took over as head coach. Doug wasn't Roderick's style of wrestler and Doug probably didn't adjust well to being told how to wrestle by his former teammate. At the final tryouts, Roderick was in Kenyon's corner. Port Robertson was in Doug's corner. There "was no love lost" between either coaches or wrestlers. After having battled to numerous draws in previous matches, a winner/US team member had to be determined. The mat was placed under the biggest shade tree on campus, removed from the entire athletic complex. The battle was waged. It was not pretty, or a disappointment to anyone in attendance, except Kenyon and Roderick; and they certainly had nothing to be ashamed of. It was like two raging rams charging directly into each other over and over. At the end of the match, Doug was bleeding profusely from his face and forehead and Kenyon's eye was swollen shut. Doug won but it could have gone either way.

I like the idea. But I propose the "Troy" method. Pick your team champion and let them duke it out. If you are Minny you choose Nelson. If you are PSU who do you choose. Interesting dilemma. I think you'd almost have to pick QW or Wade guessing Minny would probably pick Nelson.

simple solution -you put numbers 1-10--1=125--10=285 and random draw out of a hat .

Wade would be shaking in his boots if he drew Mighty Mouse. Then again, looking at his physique, perhaps he'd just ingest him.

Why wouldn't PSU just put Taylor out there against Nelson? Gable used to take Chris Taylor in practice. Isn't David Taylor the second coming of Gable?

Taylor would get crushed after the initial ankle pick attempt. You might see him on a milk carton after that.

Interesting concept, man could you get some interesting matchups with that format...
