dback_5 has been doing that for some time. I think he has dyslexia, so don't be too hard on him.

Having Carver definitely helps, but if State Penn gets a larger arena they could push for a record when Iowa comes to town next time. Okie State for being the program they are has always confused me with their attendence figures.
As discussed repeatedly, PSU has the Bryce Jordan Center - site of NCAAs in 1999 and B10s a couple years ago. It seats about 16,000, but the team has almost always chosen to keep meets in Rec Hall. Are you suggesting Penn State needs to build yet another facility?

Tom - when you get season tickets next year, you'll be able to enjoy the season with the newly installed air conditioning for the main gym in Rec Hall.

The most likely dual for Penn State to hold in BJC, Iowa, won't be at Penn State. Setting an average attendance record is always helped by having one dual that really draws well. For Iowa the crowd is biggest for either ISU or OSU. Having 15,500 for one dual out of six sure does help raise your average attendance.

There are a number of things that hurt OSU. Relative isolation of the university doesn't help. For OSU sports other than Football to have good crowds, it is basically all on the students, especially for the Friday night duals. I'm not under the impression that there has been much to promote the sport to students. Everyone at OSU is currently Football crazy and it has hurt Basketball in particular, but I think all sports have taken a hit.

I don't feel like the school does much to promote the team either. In particular this year the new SID has done next to nothing.

Ahhh, Bryce Jordan. Ok, so the Iowa meet makes total sense that they should hold it there then. There would be more people to fill that arena for that dual and probably at some other duals too possibly.

As far as Okie State, i realize that they are football crazy, but they are of the opinion that they are the best historic program in the history of the sport. You would think they could pack it in, but Art you know better than I. It would be great for the sport if they could have a larger following for home duals. On the flip side though, Okie State is usually very well represented at NCAAs so I commend their fans for that.

Im interested to see the following that State Penn has this year at NCAAs without it being in PA. I believe that Iowa fans will be the largest number of fans, but then after that it will be interesting.

Not surprisingly, I'd expect PSU's fans to have a much lower turnout. I'd expect Ok St and Minny fans to grow, and Iowa's to grow even more. I have to hand it to Iowa fans: while I don't always enjoy them, they do turn out in great numbers basically all the time. It is great support for the sport.
