    Minny wins...

Still wish they would have won it outright with the V over Iowa but it was a dogfight in the Big Ten.

Is C Yohn hurt? What about Ortiz? Is he hurt too, or are they trying someone new?

I'm just going to venture a guess and say that JRob is mixing it up at 157 as Ortiz hasn't proven to be the answer. Z there makes the most sense, hopefully he's just cutting down after an injury. If he can make that weight it definitely improves the team. A healthy Z can win a couple matches at NCAAs, Ortiz likely wouldn't qualify...

The NCAA site thinks the Gophers won, "Minnesota wraps up Big Ten dual title". "Minnesota earned the Big Ten dual meet title as the Gophers raced by Nebraska on Sunday." No mention of PSU in article.

That's because it's ridiculous to think that it's a shared title with Penn State. This isn't peewee soccer where you have to end in a tie. Minnesota won the head to head so they are the winners. There is no question. Why would it be shared between two teams when Team A has beaten Team B in a head to head match up? Dumb.

My guess - since they do not wrestle a full schedule (not all teams meet all teams), they opted for record only. It balances things out a bit.

As a side note, I don't give much weight to the head-to-head thing. If two teams are 10-1, the team that lost to the #2 team was probably better (certainly had a better season than) the team that lost to #10. If you lose, you don't get to argue about splitting a title for a season. If you're undefeated, then you can talk.

But in this situation it should be Minnesota's outright because they beat PSU. If they hadn't wrestled then I can see a sharing situation but that is not the case.

BTW, anyone notice the lack of Cody Yohn?
I've noticed it for the last 3-4 weeks.
The NCAA selection committee just screwed the Gophers on seeding.

I'm sure you'd feel the same way if PSU had beaten Minny and both teams ended up 10-1?

I don't see the logic of not giving weight to head-to-head, that should be the #1 tiebreaker in my opinion.
