Wow Marble Rock. My mom grew up there and I have tons of cousins from there. I think the population of Marble Rock, IA must be 250 people. If you blink while driving you miss the entire town. I suggest you travel to other towns with more people to talk wrestling with. I imagine you were at the Whitetail with people that are 60+ or non local construction workers.

Joe Williams wasn't an upset his freshman year - he had Pat Smith in his weight, who tech falled him earlier in the season.

Pretty sure they meant TJ Williams, who was upset in the semis his junior year by Larry Quisel. It was TJ's only loss in an Iowa singlet...

That makes more sense Gantry. I was just stating the Joe Williams lost his freshman year.

My bad, I got thinking that his loss to Benion from Ill was at NCAAs. Now I am pretty sure that it was at the Big Tens.
Good call of TJ Williams though.

Taylor has not yet won a Title so nothing that happens would be a total surprise.

Remember when Joe Heskett and Cael had perfect seasons going their first year of Varsity wrestling? If you had to bet then which would have taken second most would have chosen Cael. Heskett was a big more highly ranked and looked to be even better than Cael - til NCAA's. Cael took first and Joe took third.

I'll wait til Taylor delivers the goods. He has shown he is beatable. Now we'll see if he gets past it to the podium.
