Well crap.. We had two guys that I was hoping would make it, but you don't want to put it in the hands of a selection committee.

I wonder about alternates because a couple of the at large listed were pretty banged up after the ACCs.

If that were true, they would be going to the Big 10. Which won 7 of the 10 weights at NCAA's last year.

I am an ISU fan and was pretty concerned about Duke getting selected. But he did and now ISU has all 10!!!

I understand your suspicions about 42 of 50 from the Big 12 getting into the NCAA tournament. However, there are 34-36 (depending on which ranking you use) wrestlers ranked in the top 20 in the Big 12. So basically, you are taking 6-8 wrestlers who aren't in the top 20 in the nation to the tournament. Not that bad. Plus, 3 of the teams are in the top 5, and all 5 are in the top 13. Big 12 may be small, but it is tough as hell!

Ohio State seems like a big winner here. I hope each of those 3 wins a match or two.

Give me a second to read the list a little more deeply...

I'm really glad Clayton Jack made it, he was the only guy wo suffered in the "true second" match at Pac 10's.
Morrison has a lot of quality wins. Triggas really just hasn't been too impressive most of the year--except he does seem to get a ton of pins against inferior opponents.

Johnstone has wrestled everyone tough this year (except probably JBB), and he has wins over both of the people he lost to at Big 10s. I'm really glad that guy made it. It's a shame he's had to wrestle up a weight for the last few years.

I did not think Mizzou was going to get Henderson, so no complaints here!

For all the whining about the ACC getting more qualifiers, the Big 12 was probably leaving more quality guys at home in recent years under the old system because there was a percentage cap on the numbers.

The whole concept is that the wrestlers that perform the best during the season help their conference get rewarded with more qualifiers. We (Maryland) had two guys on the cusp. One had a loss during the season that killed him that otherwise would have helped to qualify another, and our other guy had some good wins but got off to a slow start.

Me too because I can't imagine Scotton would be ready to wrestle.

Perhaps they had a strong year, but a weak Big Ten tournament. The coaches are taking the strong year into account.
