After Ohio State beat Iowa I was pretty concerned about this potential matchup. Today I took the time to see what the "paper" says it will look like.
125: #16 Jon Morrison vs #14 Johnni Dijulius
133: #2 Jordan Oliver vs #3 Logan Stieber
141: #13 Josh Kindig vs #5 Hunter Stieber
149: #2 Jamal Parks vs #10 Cam Tessari
157: #9 Albert White vs NR Josh Demas
165: #20 Dallas Bailey vs NR Derek Garcia
174: #4 Chris Perry vs #7 Nick Heflin
184: NR Chris McNeil vs NR CJ Magrum
197: #9 Blake Rosholt vs #20 Andrew Campollatano
285: #3 Alan Gelogaev #14 Peter Capone
This is using TOM rankings for this week. Things could change with OSU wrestling Missouri and Ohio State and Michigan and Michigan State. I'm assuming Magrum has been out with injury and that is why he is not ranked here. Is listed in the lineup for this weekend. He is as high as 10 and low as 18 in other rankings. In any case, enough that he is the favorite over McNeil.
This isn't as tight by the rankings as I was expecting. Of course, if in addition to 125, 141 and 184 Ohio State gets the tossups at 133, 165 and 174 then it is a bad day in Stillwater.
Perry vs Heflin is a good measure of where he is at in the 174 hierarchy. Not much going to get in the way of Oliver and Stieber being the match everyone wants to see.
If Nebraska can again beat Ohio State the rankings again favor OSU in a big way, but take away the exciting tossups. The only one there would be between #8 James Green and #9 Albert White.
