I didn't get a chance to see that match, but given that the team just gave Futrell the OW of the meet award I wonder if Illinois stuck a back up in at 125?

no , it was Delgado.Mele got underhooks in tight and threw him on his back for 5 in the first 20 seconds -great match between Mele and Delgado.

Mele didn't throw him to his back. He hit a nice leg attack off the underhook and ended up leg turking him for 3nf. Mele was the better wrestler tonight on his feet as well as on top. Delgado struggeled on bottom tonight as well. He was trying to roll all over the mat and got caught for NF pts in the 2nd period.

Well, everything stemmed from the underhooks TD to the turk..

Impressive win by Mele in any case.

May have to rethink my position on him, as I've never really been convinced that he was that good comparatively.
