I am not trying to be disrespectful at all with this reply. Actually the reply goes to TomWright, too. Tom seems to think that Iowa should view PSU as a wrestling rival and you seem to think that tOSU is a football rival. I can not stress enough that no one in the Big 10 thinks of PSU as a rival. PSU is just another team we have to remain focused to beat. They are kinda like Michigan State, as in they are viewed as "just another team".

Now, this isn't their fault. PSU didn't get into the Big 10 until waaaaay late. By then tOSU already had Michigan, Iowa had Minnesota, Indiana had Purdue.......There was just no rival for PSU and they didn't beat tOSU for us to care. In fact, my friends and I hate to lose, but losing to PSU never really bothered us b/c it didn't happen a lot and we used to think JoePa was a stand up guy. We got that last part wrong, but PSU still puts no scare into a Buckeye's eye.

Like I said, not PSU fan's fault at all. You all can hate who you want to hate. You just can't make a rivalry because you got in too late. I am pretty sure my first words were not mommy or daddy. They were probably "Michigan sucks". Tom, I guess you are right when you said PSU gets no respect. (Notice I said Tom and right but not Tom Wright, ha ha, I amuse myself).

Quinn--thanks for elaborating on the rivalry issue. One challenge of posting is that you don't get the non-verbal part of commmunication which often plays a bigger part than the words themselves. I was mostly just trying to kid with Herkey about being on his hated list. I don't expect (or even seek) to be in a real rivalry status with Iowa or tOSU or Minnesota or whoever. We're new on the block in being viable NCAA champ contenders. Our desirability to be beaten depends on where we are in the rankings. If you're at or near the top, then you're a target. If you're lower down, then it's ho. . hum. I realize that. So I was basically kidding in my posts on this. BTW--good one on Tom "right". I'll have to remember that one : )

Will Meyer leave 3-5 years down the road - again? He has done it at each school so far. Win quick, ride it a bit and leave.

As for McIntosh. Get better at finishing takedowns. Go in harder and nail the guy. It is obvious he has the strength so why not play to it and work with it.
