Thread: Minnesota v. Iowa Predictons/Discussion

Great win by Iowa at home. Just a couple thoughts on the dual. Who was actually surprised that McDonough would win and win in dominating style? He took care of business and is looking like hes out for another title. Chris Dardanes impressed me a lot at 133. He gets after it the whole match, didnt look tired at all, and is a tough matchup for anybody. First time seeing him, but I dont think that Thorn gets back on the mat while this kid is at his weight. Evans was a beast, and broke Yohn. Thats all. Lofthouse kind of looked like he quit towards the end of the match. Not sure what to think about his chances of being an AA this year, but he doesnt seem to be able to stay consistent. Gambrall actually took some confident shots, and hopefully this gives him some sort of momentum going down to 184.

All in all, Iowa still has a long way to go to compete for the Title in March, but looks like they are making improvement a bit. It also changed my mind that MN was going to challenge for the National Title this year though. I dont think that they have the firepower watching them tonight, and will be fighting to be top 5.

This match-up in my opinion is closer than it appears on paper. Sanders has to wrestle smarter, more tactical match against McDonough.

We used to call that the cow-catcher too but evidently Kelly got cow-caught...when they both stood up you could see the step through was there for Ness and he just took it immediately. Kelly hit so hard its the only thing I think that kept him from getting pinned.

Not a big surprise since Telford wrestled at the Grandview open yesterday; plus he was 3-0 vs Nelson.
