I'm not so sure. I hadn't heard of Goettl until Midlands, and he kept surprising me there, and has continued the same thing since. For one, if you can beat Maple, you're doing something right.

Goettl looks to me to be one of those guys who "comes on after Midlands," which we see every year from a few people (witness David Bonin last year).

Beard and Spangler are both injured so assuming Beard will AA is a stretch. Finch and Goettl have good shots at round of 12 I suppose.Spangler, Sorenson and Gibson I like to potentially get through R12 and get on the podiums.

I think the Goettl is a low AA, Sorenson is a possible finalist, and Beard is a R12 if he is healthy. But in general I can't disagree with that. I see 6-7 qualifiers (Finch, Goettl, Sorenson, Spangler, Beard, Gibson and possibly Shafer or Moreno) from ISU. With 4-5 R12 guys (Sorenson and Spangler for sure, Goettl and Finch have a great chance, Beard and Gibson are outside shots) and 2-3 AA's (Sorenson, Spangler, and Goettl or Finch).

So Goettl celebrates his victory over Maple by getting majored by Kindig. This kid is impossible to predict...

Lets all take a little time and breathe now before we put Goettl on the stand now.

Goettl has some nice wins, but Kindig has not been that good this year.

Goettl is a tweener right now. He's just learning how to be good at this level. I'd put him and Telford in the same category. Can be really good, has the potential to be consistent, just isnt...yet.

Except that one is starting for a team that is showing steady improvement, the other is not.

Hard not to show steady improvement when your Iowa State. My grandma would wrestle better with more experience too, but that doesnt mean shes good.

Iiowa State has potential at nationals this year. Too bad that their starting 133, 157, 197, and 285 are out for the season. Potentially one national finalist (Sorenson), with Spangler, Finch, Beard, Gibson, possibly Goettl all with shots to All American.

Same team that lost to Army, Boston, and Old Dominion, I think they have improved quite a bit.
