Default Penn State Vs Iowa Predictions/Discussion

This thread seems inevitable so since I'm sitting here board waiting for the playoffs to start, I thought I get what's sure to be a friendly, respectful debate started.

125 McD dec Mega 3-0 Iowa (I could see a major, or worse here)
133 Ramos MD Martellotti 7-0 Iowa
141 Marion MD Pearsall 11-0 Iowa
149 Molinaro Dec Kelly 11-3 Iowa (Possible major here, Habat did it and Parks nearly)
157 DSJ Dec Alton 14-3 Iowa or Alton Dec Moore 11-6
165 Taylor MD Evans 14-7/11-10 (Could see a TF here)
174 Ruth MD Lofthouse 14-11/11-14 (Munster just dec Lofthouse, so a TF or Fall wouldn't surprise me)
184 Wright Fall Wagner 14-17/11-20 (Wagner's not been pinned all year so this may be a stretch)
197 McIntosh Dec Gambrall 14-20/11-23 (This could go either way, neither one has looked great of late)
    285 Telford Dec Wade 17-20/14-23

Iowa is a huge favorite at the first 3 weights, I think they'll need bonus points in all of these matches. Marion pinning Pearsall is a real possibility.

Penn St is favored at 149,165,174 and 184. They should get enough bonus pts from that quartet to offset Iowa's domination at the lower weights.

157: DSJ should beat Alton if he's fully healthy, but DA keeps it to a decision. If DSJ isn't 90-100% Alton could get the upset, and if DSJ sits, Alton should handle Moore.

197/285 are both tossups in my mind.

Burnsie--I don't see it a whole lot different than you. I already posted my predictions on the PSU board but will post them here and let the Iowa fans blast them if they like. These are my predictions:

125 McDonough MD 0-4 Iowa (NM may hold this to a decision, I hope he does, but I'm conservative here)
    133 Ramos MD 0-8
    141 Marion MD 0-12
    149 Molinaro MD 4-12
157 DSJ Dec 4-15 (This is a big if--initial report was that DSJ would be out 3 weeks, so he should be back. If not, then I definitely pick Alton. Even if DSJ wrestles, he's been out for a while and won't be at full form. Still, picking conservatively with DSJ)
    165 Taylor MD 8-15
    174 Ruth MD 12-15
    184 Wright Fall 18-15
197 McIntosh Dec 21-15 (This time MM won't be outsized as Gambrall is also a small 197 and hasn't looked good)
Hwt Wade Dec 24-15 (This could go either way. Wade generally does well the first time he wrestles guys before they figure him out. I'm going with Wade this time). If Wade loses I still pick PSU 21-18. Only picking 3 regular decisions with the rest bonus point matches.

I will add that it's possible that Iowa could get a fall in one of the first 3 weights. So, if they start at 125, I see Iowa jumping to a big lead by "half time", but the second half majorly going PSU's way. I think Iowa needs to win 197 and Hwt to win.

Assuming DSJ is even there? If Iowa doesn't come out of the first three weights ahead by more than 12-0, I don't think they can win it. One of the first three needs a fall and the other two need bonus. I look to Marion to have the best shot.

Hoping both Iowa and Minny have healthy line-ups on 1/29 as well.

Other than Deitchler, of course, does Minnesota have any starters currently out of the lineup? I know Storley was for a while, but he's back the last I saw.

Among PSU, Iowa, OSU and Minnesota, the only current starter that is out is DSJ as far as I know at present. And, starting next week, none of the top teams will have anyone out as far as I know. Again--not counting Deitchler since he's out for good (sadly).
