Thread: Sanders v Waters

    Default Sanders v Waters

I have to agree, not your typical 1-0 snoozefest. Both wrestlers going at it hard. Epic ride-out bc Waters NEVER quit. Sanders gutted that out on a clearly dinged up hip.

That was an impressive win for Sanders. I thought going in that Waters would win, but Sanders really earned that one.

You never got a chance to see Waters on top. That was great match management.

I didn't see any ill-effects of that hip in the finals. Sanders was sharp, looked like he was a step ahead most of the match. Waters had a great low re-shot that he almost scored on - caught Sanders flat footed! That ride-out for the win was awesome. Waters fought hard to get out and Sanders just kept following him around. Great match!

A number of people commented on how much bigger Waters looked than Sanders. That's something for a littler guy to ride out someone as good as Waters!

I saw the hip when he walked back to center a few times and then when he walks off the mat after his semi-final and then again on this finals match. It looks like a possibly more of a groin pull then a hip though. I've had one before and it looks a little like that. It's not so painful that you can't wrestle but it's painful. Might hurt worse today or tomorrow then yesterday. Wouldn't be shocked that if it is a groin pull he sits against Ohio State. We'll see. He's tough though, if he can go, he will go. No one is more dependable in that line-up then Sanders.

It was one of my favorite final matches on the day. My old high school coach was loving all the action on bottom and kept telling my old teammates that how they should wrestle

GREAT 3rd period and quite frankly I thought Sanders was a fool and should have simply cut him right away (or give the auto-point this year) at the beginning of the period. Guess I was wrong, yet again. Two tough SOBs, no other way to put it...

Sanders has always been sneaky tough on top, he's so active that he's able to stay with and ride guys bigger than he is.
