I have heard the same the thing, and if this is true i wonder if Rosholt can make the cut or if Mcneil and Perry flip-flop. I think Perry would would finish higher at 184 than he would at 174. He has already beat Leblanc and would have a better chance with Hamlin than Nick Amu or Ruth.

The plan right now is for Perry and McNeil to switch apparently. I would say Byers is more likely to be able to make the cut than Rosholt, and he is pretty unlikely.

If Perry can find his neutral offense that has been missing at 184, I would say he has every bit the chance against Ruth and Amuchastegui that he does against Hamlin or in a rematch with LeBlanc. And the potential bad tourney seems a lot less bad at 174.

This is where,IMO, Smith's not attending any 2 day weigh in tournaments hurts OSU .Can Perry make 174 3 days in a row ?
You know, I think I would rather be a man than a god . We don't need anyone to believe in us. We just keep going anyhow. It's what we do.

The timing seems strange to me. Perry is finally starting to have results like were expected of him last year. When he finally starts to come through there's talk of him dropping a weight. If he's a small 184 then I could see it. But if not, he may not be the same wrestler at 174. I'll grant you that 184 is a lot deeper this year than 174. But he will need to be at full strength and stamina to compete with the best at 174.

Interesting how this may sway a possible match with Iowa.

Wonder if he'll be down by next weekend.

The word on the OSU Rivals board is that he weighed in at 179 and a little bit at Reno. If it was 179.2 at Reno he can weigh 173.9 tomorrow for Wyoming and be as low as 171 for Iowa.

He is getting the wins, but much like JO his freshman year, it still isn't in the style most people were hoping for. If he can retain the power he has now, he should be much more effective on his feet and of course retain his top ability.

I thought even last year that Perry seemed a bit "big" at 184.

Translation: He had weight to cut.

I remember Herkey being a little bit more blunt about it after Big 12's and calling him "fat" and "jiggly".
