Thread: All-time major transfers

    Default All-time major transfers

I was thinking today about college transfers and was wondering what you all would think are some of the biggest college transfers of all-time? There are ones like Kevin Jackson (LSU to Iowa St) because the program closed down. But I'm thinking of transfers not b/c a program closed. Here are a few that come quickly to mind:

    Mocco (Iowa to OSU)
Schultzes (UCLA?? to Oklahoma) Didn't they both transfer?
    Kolat (PSU to Lock Haven)
Jenkins (PSU to Arizona St) No more jokes on that one!
    Donahoe (Nebraska to Edinboro)
    Byers (George Mason to OSU)

Have there been any big OSU to Iowa transfers? How about Iowa to Iowa St or vice versa?

I guess for me jury is still out on Byers. Lets see what he ends up doing?

Its an interesting question though because thinking from the Gopher standpoint, we have only really had people leave, not arrive. I can't think of an "arrival" but Ryland Geiger left a few years ago leaving a BIG hole for the Gophers at 197 for Clackamus CC?

Atticus Disney from U of MN to Cal Poly.

Big (but not as big as those listed) transfers from PSU :
Jamarr Billmann to Lock Haven (hmmm, noticing a trend here)
Scott Moore to UVA - I'm not sure that really counts since he finished his degree at PSU then moved on, but he was ranked in the top three that whole year.

And just to stir the pot a little -- I'll add Cael Sanderson as being a pretty big coaching transfer. Brands might just be on that list too

    Metcalf to Iowa from VT.

    Ray Brinzer (OSU to Iowa)

I believe Dave Schultz started at OSU.

TJ Jaworsky (OSU to NC State)

Under this theory, Dan Gable is the biggest transfer ever.

The GOAT of Transfers. The biggest on the mat cog in revitalizing Iowa wrestling. Brands did it off the mat, but Metcalf was the face of the program on it. 3 NCAA championships in 3 seasons.
Jacob Schlottke---Gone too soon, and the world is a little less bright because of it. RIP, brother.

One, two, Evans is coming for you...
