Thread: Mudflap is...

The Family Guy is my son's favorite show. He's only five, so I wonder whether he's going to develop a warped sense of humor. The Nut doesn't fall far from the tree apparently.

I would tread lightly on this thread!

The last time that I mentioned that I had a pretty good idea who Mudflap is (which I do), it drove a couple of people into the most blind rages that I've ever seen on an online forum.

Why? I have no idea, but man oh man alive did these people get enraged at the thought that someone may actually know the identity of Mudflap.

And, yes, Dio does suck. I saw him in concert in the 80's just after Ozzy left Black Sabbath and it was a HUGE buzzkill.

If you saw him during the Heaven and Hell concert, then maybe he just had an off night. That is one of the best Black Sabbath albums ever made. Ozzy's stuff was good too, but I was at the age where Dio's Sabbath was the first I had heard. His solo stuff is amazing and Rainbow was even pretty good.

But, about Mudflap, I don't get the appeal. I have to read his stuff several times before I can even understand it. I didn't read who you thought it was. Any chance of reminding us who you thought?

I'd put the Heaven & Hell and Mob Rules albums up against any other Sabbath releases. In addition, Dio fronted Rainbow, Heaven & Hell, and his titular (one of my favorite words, btw) band. If you're primarily a country fan, a jazz fan, a classic music fan, a reggae fan, or a fan of anything but hard rock and metal then maybe I could see you not liking Dio. I don't know any metal (or even hard rock) fans who don't like Dio, that's incredible to hear.

Ozzy was a drunk POS for most of his career with Sabbath; they released good albums but their shows were notoriously bad.

It was during the Mob Rules tour that I saw him with Sabbath. St. Paul Civic Center (now the Excel Energy Center), I believe, in the early 80's. Overall, no, I'm not much of a metal fan-never have been-but I've always loved Sabbath during the Ozzy years. I do like Joe Satriani and Steve Vai (I can get into the guitar stuff, I just can't handle the screaming of metal singers).

Both of my sons are musicians, with one being a metal guitarist. I go to his shows and try to hawk their CD's only because he's my son, but their music blows! WAY too loud and obnoxious to my ear!

As for outing Mudflap, I'm not 100% certain that I know who he is, but I'm pretty sure. I'd never out him.
