Default Iowa challenging the unbeaten streak

My math may be off, but I think that, if Iowa wins out, they will tie the "Unbeaten Streak" against Indiana and then face off with Oklahoma State the next day in an effort to take the record all to themselves. Pretty cool stuff.

You have to hand it to Brands taking the high road and dodging the National Duals last year because he didn't want to lose his precious winning streak. No excuse the biggest team tourney and the 'best team' isn't there. In my mind if they get the record that dodge at the duals will make the record not nearly as significant.

If they get it there will be an asterisk!

That'd be an (*) asterisk kind of streak -- but also pretty cool stuff.

Do the 9 Iowa City Duals the last two years count?

    Your haterade sustains me.

You guys could have stopped all this if you'd taken care of business last year...or the year before...or the year before...I think you see where I'm going with this.

Fact is, Iowa wrestled every team that could conceivably taken them down last year, except for Cornell, despite not participating in National Duals. There are reasons to criticize Tom Brands for not going to National Duals last year...the streak is not one of them.

Is Penn St. going to the national duals this year?

I'm not sure if Penn State goes or not but I do know that their next dual win will bring their win streak to 1.
