    Default Minnesota-PSU Predictions

As you all know, this Sunday Minn (#3) wrestles at PSU (#2). Should be a good one. What are your predictions? Here are mine:

125 Sanders dec over Megaludis 0-3
133 Thorn MD over Reber 0-7
141 Dardenes dec over Sherlock 0-10
149 Molinaro dec over Ness 3-10
    157 Deitchler dec over D Alton 3-13
165 Taylor MD over Yonn 7-13
    174 ER fall over ?? 13-13
184 Wright dec over Steinhouse 16-13
197 Yonn dec over McIntosh 16-16
Hwt Wade dec over Nelson 19-16 PSU over Minnesota

    125 Sanders Mdec Megaludis 4-0
    133 Thorn Mdec Reber 8-0
    141 Dardanes dec Sherlock 11-0
    149 Molinaro dec Ness 11-3
157 Deitchler dec D Alton 14-3 (Deitchler didn't look particularly great in his final v Monk but it could be conditioning, this will be a close one)
    165 Taylor Mdec Yohn 14-7
174 Ruth Mdec Young 14-11 (Young is a bit of a bull with no real skills but I think he keeps this to a major)
    184 Wright dec Steinhaus 14-14
    197 Yohn dec McIntosh 17-14
    Hwt Nelson v Wade 20-14

I could see someone in our first three locking up more than 4 bonus points but I can also see Taylor or ER getting some additional points as well so I'll just leave all of those alone. I gave Wright the decision at 184 though I think that will be a 2-3 point match and I gave Nelson the retribution match against Wade. Total homer picks but I think its realistic that Minny wins this one.

125 Sanders dec over Megaludis 3-0...This will tell us a lot about how good Nico is going to be (this year)
133 Thorn MD over Reber 7-0
141 Dardenes dec over Sherlock 10-0
149 Molinaro dec over Ness 10-3...very interested to see what happens here
157 D Alton dec over Deitchler 10-6...I like Alton to take this swing match
165 Taylor tech over Yonn 10-11...Yonn is a good wrestler but Taylor has been known to demolish other good guys
174 ER mdec over Young 10-15
184 Wright dec over Steinhouse 10-18...Am I alone in thinking that this could easily go the other way? I couldn't quite pick the upset
197 Yonn dec over McIntosh 13-18...Interested
Hwt Nelson dec over Wade 16-18 PSU over Minnesota...tossup

149, 157, 184, 197 and 285 could all go the other direction. Going to be a good dual.

Herkey, your final would be 17-16 PSU. If you think Ness has a decent shot of beating Molinaro, then you should give McIntosh the same possiblity against Yonn. At least that is my humble opinion as a totally objective PSU fan.

Also, as tough as Sanders is, I don't think he major's Megaludis.

    The difference will be BONUS...

125 Sanders WBD over Megaludis 0-3
Zach by 2 or 3 on paper but this is the most likely upset here for me to pick if I was going to pick one.

133 Thorn WBD over Reber 0-6
Thorn might get bonus here the way Reber looked vs Bloom

141 Dardenes WBD over Sherlock 0-9
If Sherlock wrestles like he did in the 3rd period vs Bloom it could be a different outcome. We just don't know what to expect from him at this point.

149 Molinaro WBM over Ness 4-9
Tank looked very tough vs Bloom. It could be another 7 point win but I am going with the Bonus here.

    157 Deitchler WBD over D Alton 4-12
Probably the biggest toss up match in the Dual. Alton didn't look good on the mat. If he can ride Jake he might get the win based upon RT. If he keeps it on his feet, he also has a better chance. PSU fans should know that the oft-injured Deitchler was a 2008 GR Olympian at the age of 17 or 18. Could be some good body locks happening here.

165 Taylor WBTF over Yonn 9-12
I am sure Minny fans will disagree but Cody lost 2xs last year to Sponseller, some DT beat by 14 last season.I know the flip to that will be that Yohn beat Polz 2xs someone that beat DT in FS 2 years ago but not the same thing.

    174 ER WBM Young 13-12
I would say WBF but Ed had the cradle 4xs last week on Dessino & couldn't get the pin. I think he might be a little rusty this earlier in the season as he had surgery & was not working for most of the summer.

    184 Wright WBM Steinhouse 17-12
I am sure all the Minny fans will doubt this. I think Q is ready to go this year. He will return the favor from last year's dual.Dominate.

    197 Yonn WBD McIntosh 17-15
From what I have seen, I am sure if the young PSU super frosh is ready to crack the top 5. I think he will not be able to ride Yohn like he did Perry. Perry also got in 3 good shots on MM. I am sure Yohn will finish his.An upset win here by MM would probably clinch the dual for PSU & bring the packed house of 6500 DOWN.

285 Wade WBD Nelson 20-15 PSU over Minnesota
In his first match back Cam was looking bigger but faster& improved on his feet.

Your right Tom, I don't know why I gave Wade a point for losing. And your right 197 could go the other way too if McIntosh is all you guys have cracked him up to be. Sanders pours it on against guys that arent on his level. I think he'll major Mega this time.

133 Thorn FALL Reber 10-0 MN
141 Dardanes dec Sherlock 13-0 MN
149 Ness dec Molinaro 16-0 MN
157 Deitchler dec Alton 19-0 MN

197 Yohn dec McIntosh 21-13 MN
285 Nelson dec Wade 24-13 MN

I see an 11 point win for the Gophers.....but Ness/Molinaro, Deitcher/Alton, & Nelson/Wade could easily go the other way. This match will be won by who ever shows up to wrestle that night!
