Salupo went to an Open Tournament and missed the dual? Uh oh.

During the wrestleoffs the announcers stated that Salupo was currently third string behind Kyle Rosser and Shane Welsh.

Deferred eligibility? won Lehigh?s Deferred Eligibility Wrestler of the Year award? placed in seven open tournaments? won titles at Mat Town Invitational, Cleveland State Open and Shorty Hitchcock Memorial Classic? finished second at East Stroudsburg Open, Edinboro Open and National Collegiate Open? finished season with 35-11 record in open competition.
kid seems pretty good for 3rd string .

Is it possible to get a pin and not score two back points?

Tony--I'm not sure I'm understanding your question correctly. But, yes, you can get a take-down in the 1st period, put the guy on his back and pin him without ever scoring "2 points" for a near fall. But, if the pin had not been called, he would have gotten 2 or 3 points depending on how long he held him there.
