    Default Oregon State 2011-2012 schedule

CORVALLIS, Ore. ? The Oregon State wrestling team announced its schedule for the 2011-12 season, head coach Jim Zalesky announced on Monday.

The Beavers will host seven meets at Gill Coliseum, including three in November, in preparation for the 2012 Pac-12 Championships, which will be held in Boise, Idaho, and the NCAA Championships, scheduled for March 15-17 in St. Louis, Mo.

?We feel that this is a great schedule as we work toward our goal of a league championship and an NCAA Championship,? Zalesky said. ?Our fans are going to get a chance to see some great teams at Gill Coliseum and we?re excited to welcome them to Corvallis.?

Oregon State opens its home slate Nov. 18 against Simon Fraser, then takes on league rival and 2011 Pac-10 champion Boise State on Nov. 20. OSU closes out the early portion of its home slate Nov. 25 against the Big 12 Conference?s Missouri.

The Beavers host three meets in January, with Wyoming visiting on the 15th, Northern Colorado coming the 20th and North Dakota State making the trip to Gill Coliseum on the 22nd.

Zalesky?s squad finishes out its 2011-12 home schedule on Feb. 3 when it takes on Oklahoma.

OSU opens its overall schedule Nov. 11 when it takes part in the two-day Best of the West tournament in Ashland, Ore.

Other tournaments for the Beavers this season include the Cliff Keen Las Vegas Invitational Dec. 2-3, the Reno Tournament of Champions on Dec. 18 and the Southern Scuffle in Chattanooga, Tenn., on Jan. 1 and 2.

Oregon State will also participate in the reformatted National Duals. The Duals now span two weeks with four six-team brackets on Feb. 12. The Beavers will head to Iowa City for a bracket that includes Iowa State, Iowa, Northern Iowa, Virginia Tech and Wisconsin. The winners of each of the four brackets will then compete in a National Duals Final Four the following weekend.

The Beavers are slated to participate in five dual matchups away from home. OSU takes on Cal State Bakersfield (Dec. 10), Cal Poly (Dec. 11), Arizona State (Jan. 8), Boise State (Jan. 27) and Stanford (Jan. 29).

With the Pac 12's in Boise I may be able to make two conference tournaments in a row, it's not the NCAA's but it's better than nothing. . .

a very tough schedule yet also a quality one for Coach Z !! Hanke RSing might be huge for the Beavers in duals -who is his back up ??
You know, I think I would rather be a man than a god . We don't need anyone to believe in us. We just keep going anyhow. It's what we do.

    "it's not the NCAA's but it's better than nothing. . ."

It's in Idaho, you might want to re-think that statement.
