Just thinking about the big matches...
I think Tsirtsis turns the Midlands final loss around on Tanelli. Tsirtsis hasn't looked great in his two matches since the Midlands final against quality competition (he has won both though) but he is the more consistent wrestler so he probably wins.
Metcalf should handle business against Ruschell again, I think Ruschell manages to tie him up for a few stalemates from the crackdown position this time though and he avoids bonus points.
I think Howe beats Morningstar.
Massey had a rough go at National Duals in getting knocked off by Berhow, still don't know if Erekson is quite there on his feet yet against the elite guys to get the TD's necessary to stake himself to a lead to where he can make best use of his top skills. Massey is a good rider too, and Erekson has been ridden out for periods several times this year.

I think we're still awaiting the first time you pick Morningstar to win a match against a ranked opponent. I hope your streak stays alive.
Re: Wisconsin vs. Iowa Discussion/Results
I was picking him against Reader had Iowa met Iowa State in the National Duals finals but I get your point.
I have him 4th in my set of AA predictions that I finished last week but in looking at my individual match predictions that are scattered around I imagine one could find it hard to fathom how exactly I expect him to get there when I pick him to lose constantly.
My thing with Morningstar is, in making projections between guys who are closely matched like Morningstar and Howe are I tend to favor the more offensive wrestler unless I have a really, really good reason not to.
Re: Wisconsin vs. Iowa Discussion/Results
As much as I like Andrew -I just don't see him getting through M*'s defense -Tanelli is taking T-shirt -the difference in the match may come down to each teams least productive wrestler-157 -I think Jordan wins -I traded Massey away because he has yet to win a big match-no different here -Wisconsin wins 4 matches at most -141 ,157 ,197,and hwt -and 2 of those are iffy . Had Brandvold and Graff not red-shirted there would be a completely different look to this match -Wisconsin starts down 6-12 every match , that has to be disparaging -if Dennis opens up he can dismantle the Wisconsin kid -but he'll settle for a 6-1 win --22 -9, Iowa .

From Hawkeyesports.com
Iowa vs. Wisconsin
141 - #1 Alex Tsirtsis vs. #3 Zach Tanelli
Tanelli won the first career meeting between the two - a 10-3 decision in the championship final of the 2008 Midlands. Tsirtsis has been looking for a rematch. Tsirtsis held a 3-2 lead early in the third period of his match. He took a brief injury timeout after colliding with Tanelli during an offensive flurry. After the timeout, Tanelli scored a takedown, rolled off two three-point nearfalls and secured the riding time point to win 10-3. That match is Tsirtsis' only loss (16-1) of the season, and he brings a five-match winning streak to the dual. Tanelli is 16-3 and currently riding his own nine-match winning streak.
149 - #1 Brent Metcalf vs. #6 Kyle Ruschell
Metcalf owned the first meeting between the two - a 14-5 major decision in the championship final of the 2008 Midlands. The Hawkeye junior is 20-0 with a 52-match winning streak. Ruschell is 17-4 this season.
165 - #3 Ryan Morningstar vs. #9 Andrew Howe
This will be the first meeting between Morningstar and Howe. The Hawkeye junior brings a 18-2 record to the dual, while Howe is 14-4.
Hwt - #12 Dan Erekson vs. #7 Kyle Massey
This will be the first meeting between Erekson and Massey. The Hawkeye junior brings a 14-5 record to the dual, while Massey has a season record of 15-5.
Iowa vs. Illinois
133 - #5 Daniel Dennis vs. #3 Jimmy Kennedy
Dennis and Kennedy are no strangers on the wrestling mat. The duo both attended Grant High School in Ingelside, IL. In their only collegiate meeting, Dennis posted a 5-3 win in the second sudden victory period in the championship semifinals of the 2008 Midlands. Dennis is 16-2 this season and handed Kennedy (18-1) his only season loss.
Hwt - #12 Dan Erekson vs. #10 John Wise
This will be the first meeting between Erekson and Wise. The Hawkeye junior brings a 14-5 record to the dual, while Wise has a season record of 11-4.

Not a bad standard to set, actually. I'm sure if I didn't root for the Hawkeyes, I'd feel the same way. It's just that, for most, the defensive wrestlers on our own team are the only ones we like. ;)

Indeed.
It does seem as though you're able to find that really, really good reason that I spoke of much easier when the wrestler you're looking at is wearing the "proper" colored singlet.
Re: Wisconsin vs. Iowa Discussion/Results
I think as in a lot of matches, Morningstar's riding ability will give him the edge over Howe.
