Thread: Oklahoma State's schedule

OSU has got a tough schedule this year--especially their out-of-conference schedule with Iowa, Mn, Rutgers, Boise St among others. Interresting that Nebraska is no longer on the schedule (out of conference out of mind). They will need depth as they (like everyone else) can expect some injuries. Has OSU got some good back-ups at most weights?

I had not noticed before that the Big 12 - or small 4 now - wrestles each other conference team twice. This sounds painfully boring to me. On top of that, they'll get to wrestle at least a couple of the same guys at the conference championship, and then maybe again in other tournaments. What do the Big 12 fans out there think?

I'm not sure what the solution is. Getting 3 more non-conference matches seems like a better option and shouldn't be too hard to schedule (unless Okie State keeps backing out of home-and-home agreements).

We have good depth at 125, 141, 149, 157, and 197 off the top of my head.

    Falcon,
What do you hear about Z ? IMO, he is as talented a wrestler as there is .is he healthy ? I know his conditioning was horrible but i think he (if healthy ) AA's this year.
You know, I think I would rather be a man than a god . We don't need anyone to believe in us. We just keep going anyhow. It's what we do.

Blueblood, I think this is the first year they are doing home and home in the Big 12. It's completely idiotic. Like you mentioned they will wrestle each other now at the very least three times in duals and conference tournament. They need to combine with the WWC or add a few more teams. If they don't the B12 will continue to be the laughing stock of conferences. Four teams does not make a league. It's a pretty poor league this year, except for Okie St.

What is the problem keeping Benefiel eligible? Lazy? Dumb?

I doubt Benefiel is too "dumb" in the academic sense, given the fact that he started at Northwestern, which has a strict "no-dummies" policy. Sounds like he just makes bad choices on a consistent basis and might have some work ethic issues.

I think Z's conditioning issues were a result of cutting quite a bit of weight at 197. Reported that he was over 250 when Ramadan started. I'm sure his weight took a hit during that.

It is looking more and more like OSU and OU will be headed to the PAC. Not sure where ISU will end up. Missouri will desperately try and hopefully get into the Big 10. Going to the SEC doesn't bode well for the wrestling program.
