    Default Troy Letters To Clarion

I'm keeping an eye open for the official announcement, but it looks like Letters will be joining Dernlan at Clarion. I'm sad the see him go. I think he has been a great coach for the upper middle weights, and he is definitely a great person.

Clarion is getting a good coach.

Wow. Lots of turmoil in Happy Valley this year. Who will replace Troy? Cole Sanderson? Varner (as the Volunteer Coach with everyone else moving up)?
Jacob Schlottke---Gone too soon, and the world is a little less bright because of it. RIP, brother.

One, two, Evans is coming for you...

While Varner would obviously be a quality guy in the room, he seems redundant to Cael and Anspach. I have a hard time seeing that as a great move. For training, the need now seems to be roughly 157-174.

I will confirm what BBL has posted. I heard this early this morning.

PSU needs a PA guy on staff. Hughes would be a great pick but he is a Asst HC @ Lehigh (not going anywhere) & is not on the best of terms with the current PSU staff.

One of the NLWC guys like Teyon or Jake would be nice BUT as I said they need a PA guy IMO.

I hate to see Letters go to. A great wrestler and with my little personal contact with him seemed like a very nice, humble guy.

This raises a question that I've wondered about for a while. What does "volunteer coach" mean? I've assumed that it means they don't get a salary and is usually for someone while they're in graduate school with maybe free tuition in exchange. Can anyone tell me what it really means?

Good for Clarion, and especially good for James Fleming.
    RIP Jacob Schlottke - 1984-2011

Or bad for Troy Letters, if he wants to keep his life.

My understanding is that at OSU it was a position paid for by boosters. I could be wrong about the way the NCAA views it though.
