Thread: Who is going to underachieve next year?

Kdiddy: I can't understand the people who think Ohio State will be a good team this year. They won't. They'll be better than last year but not close to upper echelon.

Other than Logan Stieber and Nick Heflin, there's no one in the lineup that could right now be considered a serious threat to AA. I hope there are pleasant surprises. But John Dijulius, Cam Tessari, Randy Languis/Hunter Stieber, Josh Demas and Pete Capone (at hvy) are not going to be better than average. That leaves Campolattano and Garcia as the two wild cards at 197 and 165. No one really knows what to expect from these two.

It'll be exciting to watch the Bucks because of their youth but they would have needed Paddock (healthy) and Triggas to have had any shot at a top ten finish.

KR 1963: I'm with you. All Ed Ruth did last year was wrestle extremely well. He's stronger and quicker than anyone at the weight and after losing to the underrated (and very tough 2xAA) Amuchastegui, he came back for third. I don't see him any lower this year and he has obvious finalist potential. In fact, his biggest obstacle will probably be the guy I just mentioned.

Everyone wants to poke holes in PSU but they really have four guys that can win it all--Taylor, Ruth, Wright and Molinaro. What's working against them is Cael training for the Olympics and just the unlikelihood that all will go well for all four throughout the season esp. injuries.

I will wager that he doesn't win a national championship this year. What's the bet?

For a guy that finished third last year, anything third or worse is underachieving, from a hard line stance. If he finishes third or fourth I would say it was a pretty good season again. I could see him finishing anywhere from 1st to 5th.

He's going to lose to Mike Evans...AGAIN.
Jacob Schlottke---Gone too soon, and the world is a little less bright because of it. RIP, brother.

One, two, Evans is coming for you...

Zapp--I was just thinking earlier today that I hadn't seen a post from you in a while. You and Herkey both are high on Evans and understandably so. A Ruth-Evans dual should be very interesting to watch. I had forgotten that Evans had beaten Ruth when they were both in HS. The whole Iowa-PSU dual should be a great one.
