that's the nitty-gritty about prelims, at least in Sconny.
....and what's this crap about "duEling lawyers", Mr. Squawkeye???
The Art of living is more like wrestling than dancing.
TLV in Pa. prelims are held for all cases not just felony.
I personally enjoyed your play on words there. It was better than the "Lawyer (ahem)-measuring contest" reference I was going to go with. That said, I admire that there are some individuals on here that can debate such intricate matters.
Not to steal completely from someone on The Guillotine website or on this website, but I'm going to.....even at the risk of knowing there are people here who could reference legal statutes for my robbery. I read someone who noted that they now realize Lil' Thorn may have been on to something when he popped Long at the end of their dual match.
Between Long's unfortunate history at Ames and the way he sometimes carries himself on the mat it is REALLY difficult giving him the benefit of the doubt. That may not be fair and I am a firm believer in "innocent until proven guilty" but I didn't always dig Metcalf's actions on the mat....you NEVER had to worry about him legally off it. Just saying.
Herkey #1: Don't care for your Avatar (look at my user name, what do you expect from me?), but could Ramos look any more like a long lost Cejudo brother???
There are three things that stick out at me right now:
1. This story is so weird it is hard to believe, but it is just as hard to figure out why someone would make it up.
2. Nothing good will come of it. Either it happened which means she went through something she never should have to and his life is ruined, or it didn't happen, she is totally frickin loopy and his name is still basically ruined.
3. Speaking of his name being ruined... I'm not sure I am surprised, but I am really disappointed that so many people jumped on this and spouted off with little or no real information. A rape (or sexual assault) accusation is an extremely sensitive, life-changing issue on both sides. The last thing is needs is people spreading rumors, stories, and worst - lies based on prior opinions.
At this point, I think the best possible thing to happen is a quick resolution. If somehow the legal system draws this out and there is no resolution until next year, everyone loses.
maybe if the guy would keep his name out of the headlines his name wouldn't be ruined.
Definetly a pattern forming with his behavior. Drinking and Andrew Long don't mix
