Vt should beat isu. Osu will be a challenge.

Iowa State may suprise you. They will be a very young team but many of those guys were pretty tough coming out of high school. It will be interesting to see how they do in college. The only huge hole I see is Cash. Weatherman had a tough year last year but maybe that was due to his youth. This will be a good season to judge KJ's coach em up skills, whith so many freshman and sophomores in the lineup. Here's my guess as to their lineup.

    125 Ryak Finch Fr
    133 Ben Cash So
    141 Luke Goettl Fr
    149 Joey Cozart Fr
    157 Trent Weatherman So
    165 Andrew Sorenson Sr
    174 Chris Spangler Jr
    184 Jerome Ward Sr
    197 Kyven Gadsen Fr
    285 Matt Gibson Jr

Would love to see a VA Tech and Oregon State lineup if anyone wants to give it a shot.

Safe to say they're a better dual team than tournament team?

By far. Just like VT last season.

Mike Moreno will be battling for the 157 spot and Max Mayfield will be in the hunt for 141/149. Not sure what's going on with Ward, but wouldn't be surprised to see Shafer start season at 184.

Buford, does Matt Riley have a shot at 184 this season? I remember him being pretty good at Roosevelt, losing to Gadsen in the finals at state. I just can't bear the thought of having to watch Jerome Ward wrestle one more match.

Agreed, there should be some decent competition in the wrestling room this season. I could easily see Moreno stepping up at 157, especially given Weatherman's off the mat activities of late. That said I'm really rooting for a big turn around for him. Seems he has too much potential to not be at least fairly successful.

Anyone heard anything about Bo Schlosser? I knew he had grade issues in HS but as far as I knew he still planned to go to ISU and try to make it on the college scene, that still the case? Also heard rumors of no RS for him to fill the 133 void, but I personally see that as a longshot.

Schlosser is taking summer classes to gain entrance to Iowa State (not a good way to start college), but will compete for 133 and wrestle if he's the best we got. I heard Riley's work ethic is subject, but that's hearsay, I think Shafer will have the spot if its not Ward. Ward has a injury, whether it's still his knee or something else, I'm not sure. I'm not sure what weight England is either, I think a backup for Spangler at 174. Christensen, Hawes and Volker I think are all 197.

    VT's
    125-Jarrod Garnett/Ty Mitch
    133-Devin Carter/Jarrod Garnett(If Devin RS)
    141-Zach Neibert
    149-Brian Stephens/Nick Brascetta
    157-Jesse Dong/Harrison Hightower(if Dong RS)
    165-Peter Yates
    174-Bubba Schleffel/John Dickson
    184-Angelo Malvestuto
    197-Derrick Borlie
    285-David Marone

Lots of guys w/ RS available so who knows. Especially up in the air what they'll do with the first 4 weights.
