Loved every word. Especially about the fluff pieces the media puts out. Time for some accountability.

Agree with him 100% - now the tough part is the action.

When I see my alma mater (NIU) promote their assistant of a long-struggling program without a national search it angers me. You'd have to think a guy like Joe Russel would rather have the resources & geography of NIU over a George Mason, yet he wasn't given a chance to interview for that job. I have nothing against the new coach, but there's no reason NOT to do a national search and hire the best guy for the job. Perfect example of what Thorn was talking about - an administration that doesn't care about results.

As much as I loved Mike as a wrestler I was surprised that he was this articulate.

Can't find much to disagree with in the video.

I am pretty sure he studied Business at Minnesota so it seems that he has tried to take that CEO style of thinking to handling wrestling as a sink or swim business proposition. I like it. It is refreshing, just need to back up a few more statements with facts & an exact program not just a good idea or an interesting idea.

Given the way that he talked about the program that finishes last in the Big 10 every year (as if we don't know which team he's talking about) it seems like he may already have one in mind.

Yea that was pretty hard to miss but he also picked on every cellar dweller in every conference...

There's no reason MSU can't be a legit team. Simple a school that doesn't care. They get some talented kids in spite of their coach.

The irony is, the coach who's team finishes in last place in the Big Ten nearly every year has just been added to the NCAA Division I Wrestling Committee!

There is no argument in my mind that Minkel needs to go. Michigan State AD Mark Hollis needs to can him not one day later than five years ago (OK, so Ron Mason was the AD at the time...but since January of 2008, he should have made that move at some point). Much as I like him, I suspect that Indiana head coach Duane Goldman's days would be numbered if AD Fred Glass cared as well.
